Register of Merit Application
REGISTER OF MERIT AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND GUIDELINES
OBJECTIVE
To recognise breeding excellence in the Shetland Sheepdog in Australia & New Zealand.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for entry into the Register of Merit Australia & New Zealand:
- A Sire must have sired ten (10) or more progeny with Champion titles, and/or Obedience titles, Agility Champion titles, Herding Champion titles, Tracking Champion titles
- A Dam must have produced five (5) or more progeny with Champion titles, and/or Obedience titles, Agility Champion titles, Herding Champion titles, Tracking Champion titles
Before entry into the Register of Merit Australia & New Zealand, the progeny’s titles must be verified.
Note: A Sire and/or Dam’s progeny is only counted once, regardless of the number of titles obtained.
VERIFICATION
Acceptable proof of awarding of progeny’s title:
- A photocopy of progeny’s registration papers clearly showing the title
- A photocopy of any official State Canine Council or ANKC notification or registration papers clearly showing the title of the progeny
- A photocopy of the page of the State Canine Journal where the title is recognised
- In the case of overseas Champion progeny, a photocopy of any official document including from the country where the title was obtained that clearly shows the progeny’s title will be accepted.
Once all progeny have been verified, the National Shetland Sheepdog Council (NSSC) will present a certificate to the Sire or Dams Owner/s & Breeders to recognise the achievement.
All applications are to be sent to the current NSSC Secretary.
